Traditional Vitality from Sil Batta Ground Moong Pearls
Our Desi Mungodi revives the nostalgic flavors of a traditional Indian summer. We craft these savory pearls from organically grown Moong Chhilka Dal. Moreover, we follow a meticulous process to ensure every bite is “full of taste” and health. This best-selling staple is also known as Wadi or Sandge in different parts of India. Consequently, it brings the authentic warmth of a traditional kitchen directly to your table.
The Artisanal Process: From Stone to Sun
We preserve the goodness of Green Gram (Moong) using time-honored techniques.
-
Soaking: First, we soak the Moong Chhilka Dal for at least six hours.
-
Stone Grinding: Next, we drain the dal and grind it on a traditional Sil Batta. This slow method protects the grain’s natural fiber and nutrients.
-
Hand-Crafting: Afterward, we neatly drop the paste as tiny pearls onto a clean cotton cloth.
-
Sun-Drying: Finally, the hot summer sun dries these “Moong pearls” naturally. As a result, you can store these badis for a very long time.
