Since the year 2016, when our parent company Satat Sampada was initiated, we have been part of this journey to raise human consciousness on the importance of soil. 87% of life on earth depends on soil.It is not just dirt or rocks. It is sand and organic matter. It gives birth to our food and without good soil, our existence is not even thinkable.

Today, 62% of India’s soil has less than 0.5% organic content. Without organic content, the soil becomes just sand, and nothing can be grown in it. Agricultural soil should have at least 3% organic content in order to give proper nutrition to the plants. It is because of this deficiency in soil, the nutrient content in our day today food is going down. In fact, we have to eat 8 oranges to receive the same amount of Vitamin A as our grandparents did with just one orange.

Why The Save Soil Movement? Sadhguru aims to influence the policies of 193 countries around the world so that they address this crisis of poor soil and excessive use of chemicals in agriculture. The movement targets to reach 4 billion people, which equals to 60% of the world’s electorate. On the 21^st of March 2022, Sadhguru embarked on a journey from the United Kingdom to his hometown Mysore, riding a motorcycle covering 30,000 km crossing 27 countries, meeting with important political and social leaders on the way and raising consciousness about soil.

Eat Right Basket as an Earth Buddy of the Soil Movement is working on this mission, by educating farmers in Uttar Pradesh, India to shun chemicals, pesticides and fertilizers and adopt natural practices of farming, picking up from India’s traditional wisdom and updating it with evolved practices.

Cow dung, Cow urine (Gaumutra), Neem (Azadirachta), local flowers, leaves etc are the key inputs that rejuvenate the soil and enhance its fertility to grow healthy food. Panchgavya, Jivamrit and Sanjeevak and Vermicompost are some such inputs.  The best part is everything is readily available with the farmers.

Our parent company, Satat Sampada, connects farmer groups with Government of India’s Certification Program, PGS by helping them fulfil the certification process, hold training programmes for them and hand hold them whenever they require support. Eat Right Basket procures such naturally grown PGS certified produce from these farmer groups and processes them in traditional way to give its customers pure, healthy, nutritious food.

Agriculture using traditional wisdom is the best way to SAVE SOIL At Eat Right Basket and Satat Sampada, we strongly believe that by following crop rotation cycle, adding crop diversity, applying cow dung based nutrients to the soil from time to time, green manuring etc we will be able to fulfil Sadhguru’s dream.

Saving our soil is URGENT if we want to secure our future and have a world without hunger.
